At least eight people were hurt, including a bus driver, after an MTA bus crashed in Morrisania.<\/p>\n
It happened along East 163rd Street between Prospect and Cauldwell avenues.<\/p>\n
The Bx6 bus was traveling with passengers toward Union Avenue when the bus collided with multiple vehicles that were both occupied and unoccupied.<\/p>\n
One vehicle was completely mangled around a trash can and streetlight along Tinton Avenue. Surveillance video shows the bus appear to be traveling uncontrollably fast before it collided with the car. The bus finally came to a halt near prospect Avenue.<\/p>\n
The bus lost control after the 63-year-old driver attempted to activate the emergency break, the NYPD said.<\/p>\n
A passenger onboard said the doors on the bus were not opening \u2013 some kicked the front glass door to get off while others climbed out of the back windows.<\/p>\n
“It was showing signs of shutting down near 3rd Avenue, I felt the impact from the back. I climbed through the window, the doors weren\u2019t opening,\u201d said Ahmed Sugri.<\/p>\n
