More than 24 hours after police say 18-year-old Jonathan Adams was found with a gunshot wound to the head<\/p>\n
His mother said she still doesn\u2019t know what happened to her son.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to know what happened,\u201d said the victim\u2019s mother, who did not want to give her name. \u201cI want to know who killed my son. I want to know what happened. This is hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police said shots rang out at around 10:45 a.m. Thursday inside of a home on 108th Avenue in Jamaica, Queens

Upon arrival, police were told a teen had been shot in the head. Adams was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead<\/p>\n

According to officials, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
NYPD, SWAT officers and detectives could be seen at the crime scene following the shooting, but as of Friday afternoon, Adams\u2019 mother said she has not heard from police.<\/p>\n
\u201cI haven\u2019t seen [any] police yet,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m still waiting for the police to come. No police come to us.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wilfred Anderson, who lives in the residence, claims he found Adams clinging to life on the ground in his 2nd floor apartment.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut he wasn\u2019t dead. He was still talking,\u201d Anderson said. \u201cHe kept saying, \u2018They shot me, they shot me,\u2019 before he was gone.\u201d<\/p>\n
Anderson\u2019s landlord said he\u2019s been having trouble with the tenant and his apartment.<\/p>\n
\u201cNotice that people were standing there, and they\u2019re hanging around there, and there are certain-looking people and intoxicated,\u201d Zubair Chaudhry of Zubair Realty said.<\/p>\n
Chaudhry says he observed an agent of the nonprofit that pays Anderson\u2019s rent chastising him for his behavior.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd he was telling him, \u2018Get out, we give you [a] place to live and you are destroying everything,\u2019\u201d Chaudhry said. \u201cAnd he was saying, I have proof of everything. I will go to the court.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sources said Adams was a student at Martin Van Buren High School in Queens. His mother, who said Adams was a foster baby before she adopted him, said he was having challenges at the time of his death and doesn\u2019t believe he ever got the help he needed.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was having mental challenges, and he comes and goes, comes and goes,\u201d the victim\u2019s mother said. \u201cWhen it comes to structure, he just does what he wants to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite his challenges, Adams\u2019 mother says he loved to dance, play the drums and play the organ.<\/p>\n
Records from the city\u2019s Department of Buildings show multiple complaints by neighbors about the home where the victim was shot.<\/p>\n
