Photo by Lloyd Mitchell\n<\/p>\n<p>A resident of the unit sustained critical injuries after he leaped from a fourth-floor window to escape the flames, and was rushed by Hatzolah to NYC Health+Hospitals\/Bellevue. The man, whose identity has not been released, was in critical but stable condition as of Wednesday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters managed to get the flames under control by 12:14 p.m., per the FDNY, but as fire marshals began investigating the scene, they discovered two suspicious devices and called in the NYPD Bomb Squad for support. Multiple buildings were evacuated as the squad investigated, but the items were determined to be \u201cnon-hazardous.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-235476\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/DSC_4154.jpg\" alt=\"bomb squad nypd\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\"  \/>The NYPD\u2019s bomb squad investigated the device and deemed it \u201cnon-hazardous.\u201d Photo by Lloyd Mitchell<\/p>\n<p>The items in question may have been pipes filled with sand for weight-lifting, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/pix11.com\/news\/local-news\/brooklyn-apartment-fire-triggers-nypd-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Pix11<\/a>, and were removed from the premises as a precaution.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fire Marshals will continue to investigate the cause of the fire, per the NYPD.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A suspicious device found in a Williamsburg apartment was deemed non-hazardous, cops said.
