High school athletes from around the country will converge next year to compete in a new athletic competition as part of the United States\u2019 250th birthday celebration, President Trump announced Thursday.<\/p>\n
The newly minted \u201cPatriot Games\u201d will be a \u201cfirst-of-its-kind\u201d athletic event, spanning across four days and featuring \u201cone young man and one young woman\u201d from each state and territory.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the fall, we\u2019ll host the first-ever \u2018Patriot Games,\u2019 an unprecedented four-day athletic event featuring the greatest high school athletes,\u201d Trump said in a speech from the Oval Office on Thursday<\/a> \u2014 assuring that there would be no co-ed competition. <\/p>\n \u201cBut I promise there will be no men playing in women\u2019s sports,\u201d he said. \u201cYou\u2019re not going to see that.
