For Staten Island radiology tech Diego Diaz, social media isn\u2019t just about trends\u2014it\u2019s about transformation. With millions of TikTok views, Diaz has carved out a unique space as an influencer for good, using his platform to educate, uplift and inspire. His videos blend humor and heart with practical health tips, turning everyday moments into lessons that resonate far beyond the screen.<\/p>\n

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 In a world where healthcare is often seen through a lens of convoluted terminology and mystery, one Staten Island radiology technologist is using social media to change the narrative.<\/p>\n

Diego Diaz, 33, is on a mission to make radiology more accessible, while inspiring future healthcare professionals to join the field in critical need of personnel. With more than 75K followers and more than 100 million views on TikTok, <\/a>he is doing just that.<\/p>\n

When Diaz, a Willowbrook resident, first started working in hospitals (he worked at Staten Island University Hospital before quitting to become a travel technologist in order to help fill vacancies at hospitals), it didn\u2019t take long to notice a glaring issue: the general public didn\u2019t fully understand what radiology technologists do.<\/p>\n

From X-rays to MRIs, the importance of medical imaging was often understated, despite its critical role in diagnosing and treating patients. At the same time, the healthcare industry was facing a growing shortage of professionals, especially in radiology, which added another layer of urgency to the specialty.<\/p>\n

Determined to make a difference, Diaz turned to TikTok, the social media platform known for its short, oftentimes engaging and educational videos.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to give people a behind-the-scenes look at medical imaging, answer common questions, and spark curiosity about careers in healthcare\u2014especially radiology,\u201d Diaz said to SILive.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The idea was simple: by showing people the importance of radiology and how rewarding it can be, maybe more would consider it as a career option.<\/p>\n

The TikTok account quickly gained traction, and what started as a personal project turned into an influential platform. Diaz has shared everything from how MRI machines work to debunking myths about radiology, all while keeping the content approachable and easy to understand.<\/p>\n
