STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 The Board of Directors of Catholic Charities of Staten Island has unanimously elected Courtney Moore to succeed Joseph Delaney as chair, marking a new chapter for the organization rooted in community service and leadership. Moore will assume the role effective Jan. 1, 2026.<\/p>\n
Moore succeeds Delaney, who has served on the board for 15 years, including the past eight years as chair. Board members praised his steady leadership and long-standing commitment to the mission of Catholic Charities, which provides critical social services to Staten Island\u2019s most vulnerable residents.<\/p>\n
Delaney described Courtney Moore as \u201cthe perfect person to lead the Board of Catholic Charities of Staten Island.\u201d<\/p>\n
She currently serves on the executive committee and chairs the Program Quality Improvement Committee, where she has focused on strengthening services and outcomes for clients across the borough.<\/p>\n
\u201cCourtney brings to the role of board chair a wealth of business experience and insight, along with a proven record of volunteer community service to the Staten Island community,\u201d said Delaney. \u201cThe leadership of the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities is in very good hands.\u201d<\/p>\n
Moore brings extensive professional experience and a deep record of civic engagement to the position. A nationally recognized wealth advisor, she has been named a Forbes \u201cBest-In-State Wealth Advisor\u201d multiple times, including in 2024 and 2025, and has also been recognized on Forbes\u2019 \u201cTop Women Wealth Advisors Best-In-State\u201d list. <\/p>\n
Her honors include repeated appearances on Barron\u2019s \u201cTop Institutional Consultant\u201d list and induction into the Barron\u2019s Hall of Fame in 2022 and has been an active member of the Catholic Charities of Staten Island board for the past three years. <\/p>\n
Moore earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she attended on a full athletic scholarship. <\/p>\n
She holds both the Certified Investment Management Analyst designation, earned through the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and the Certified Financial Planner certification. <\/p>\n
Her community involvement extends beyond Catholic Charities, serving on the board of trustees of Richmond University Medical Center.<\/p>\n
She also sits on the investment committee for Notre Dame Academy in Staten Island, and previously served as regatta chair of the Richmond County Yacht Club. <\/p>\n
She was also appointed by former Mayor Michael Bloomberg to the New York City Rent Guidelines Board.<\/p>\n
Within her firm, Merrill, Moore has served on several advisory councils to management and was the inaugural national co-chair of the Merrill Lynch Women\u2019s Exchange. <\/p>\n
