STATEN ISLAND, NY \u2014 The JCC of Staten Island will host its Annual Sunshine Sunday fundraiser on Feb. 1, 2026, to support a local day camp for children battling cancer.<\/p>\n
The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Historic Old Bermuda Inn, located at 301 Veterans Road West. The afternoon will include food and beverages, music and raffle prizes, according to event organizers.<\/p>\n
The fundraiser benefits the Lucille & Jay Chazanoff Sunrise Day Camp-Staten Island, which serves more than 150 children annually at Staten Island Academy. The camp provides programs for children struggling with cancer from Staten Island, New Jersey, Manhattan, and Brooklyn on a non-sectarian basis.<\/p>\n
All camp services are provided free of charge to families, recognizing the financial strain that childhood chronic illness can create. In addition to summer camp, the program operates year-round in-hospital programs called Sunrise Sundays and Sunrise on Wheels.<\/p>\n
Event chairs Dr. Andrew Olsen and Gabriella DeLuca Garrone will honor four recipients for their community contributions: Enza Bocuzzi, Roosevelt Board, The Ritz-Carlton New York, and Carol Doodian-Russo.<\/p>\n
