The FDNY says that it recovered a body from the water Thursday morning. The person was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.<\/p>\n
News 12 was one of the first to arrive at the scene and saw the emergency response behind a home on Husson Avenue.<\/p>\n
The homeowner said he saw something floating in the water and thought it was trash.<\/p>\n
“I got closer and then I saw it was the body,” said Leslie Bhagwandin, the homeowner who found the body in his backyard.<\/p>\n
Police say it was the body of a 58-year-woman but won\u2019t release her identity.<\/p>\n
Neighbors were shocked to hear this happened in their area. <\/p>\n
“Nothing ever happened here,” Wilson Pagan, a neighbor said. “I\u2019ve been here 10-12 years here and never seen anything happen like this.\u201d<\/p>\n
