A tentative contract agreement has been reached between the Actors\u2019 Equity Association and The Broadway League, the union announced.<\/p>\n
Talks went into the late-night hours on Friday, lasting all the way until 6 a.m. Saturday. The Actors\u2019 Equity Union represents more than 51,000 professional actors and stage managers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis three-year agreement saves the Equity-League Health Fund while also making strides in our other priorities including scheduling and physical therapy access,\u201d the union said in a statement.<\/p>\n
The Broadway League is the national trade association for the Broadway industry, representing theater owners and operators, producers, presenters and general managers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re pleased to have a reached a tentative agreement on terms both parties are comfortable with. Our focus has been negotiating in good faith at the bargaining table to reach a fair contract,\u201d the league said in a statement.<\/p>\n
The tentative deal now needs to be brought to members for ratification.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Broadway Musicians\u2019 Union is still in talks with the Broadway League.<\/p>\n
\u201cStill in negotiation for a fair contract, and everything remains on the table, including a strike,\u201d Robert Suttmann, president of AFM Local 802, said.<\/p>\n
