{"id":78932,"date":"2025-12-23T09:37:21","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T09:37:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/78932\/"},"modified":"2025-12-23T09:37:21","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T09:37:21","slug":"bronx-man-accused-of-murder-dies-at-rikers-island-14th-inmate-death-this-year-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/78932\/","title":{"rendered":"Bronx man accused of murder dies at Rikers Island; 14th inmate death this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man from The Bronx died while in custody at Rikers Island on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>He is the 14th person to die in NYC Department of Corrections custody this year.<\/p>\n<p>DOC revealed that Kryon Randall, 33, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital on Sunday &#8220;due to what appeared to be an allergic reaction.&#8221; He was pronounced dead overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Randall was charged with murder back in June of 2023, accused of beating a 56-year-old man into a coma. The man later died from his injuries.<\/p>\n<p>He was awaiting trial and was set to appear in Bronx Criminal Court for a conference in February.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A man from The Bronx died while in custody at Rikers Island on Sunday.
