Snow is just starting to fall outside the Carteret PAC in Carteret, NJ this Saturday, December 13, 2025 evening as music lovers ready themselves for a special holiday-themed concert entitled\u00a0An Olde English Christmas with Herman\u2019s Hermits starring Peter Noone.<\/p>\n

Recalls longtime fan,\u00a0Gill from England, \u201cI\u2019ve been a fan since I was a teenager \u2014 Peter Noone was my teen idol \u2014 he was so cheeky! In the \u201890s, I saw him perform in England and I went to his website and became friends with many of his fans there. In 2000, when Peter played at EPCOT in Florida, I came over and six of us went to all three shows he did every day for a week. Since then, I\u2019ve been coming to the U.S. about three times a year and meeting up with all the friends I\u2019ve made. Tonight will be my 513th Peter Noone concert!\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Gill\u2019s friend, Dorothy from Levittown, NY, reveals, \u201cI\u2019ve seen Peter too many times to count \u2014 at least 500 times. His was the first concert I ever went to \u2014 I saw him at the Westbury Music Fair in 1966 \u2014 and tonight I\u2019m happy to be seeing him at Carteret PAC, which is a very nice venue. I\u2019m a lifetime member of Peter\u2019s fan club, and it\u2019s been a lot of fun going to shows with all the friends I\u2019ve met, including Gill.\u201d<\/p>\n

Inside the Carteret PAC auditorium, the lights dim and guitarist Vance Brescia and keyboardist Rich Spina take the stage dressed as elves and render a soft instrumental version of \u201cGreensleeves\u201d as, off stage, Peter Noone dramatically recites the poem, \u201cThe Night Before Christmas.\u201d At the conclusion, guitarist Billy Sullivan, dressed as Santa Claus, makes his way down into the audience where he dances and prances to a recording of \u201cSleigh Ride.\u201d<\/p>\n

Returning to the stage, Sullivan \u2014 along with Brescia, Spina, and drummer Dave Ferrara \u2014 launch into the 1964 Herman\u2019s Hermits\u2019 hit, \u201cI\u2019m Into Something Good,\u201d as Peter Noone, wearing a top hat, makes his entrance exclaiming, \u201cMerry Christmas!\u201d Concertgoers joyfully sing along to the song\u2019s upbeat \u201cSomething tells me I\u2019m into something good\u201d chorus before Noone and the band segue into the Hermits\u2019 1965 remake of the 1960 Sam Cooke hit, \u201cWonderful World.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGood evening, boys and girls!\u201d announces Noone, 78, as he and the band scamper into an upbeat rock version of \u201cWinter Wonderland.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat a thrill to be back in Carteret, NJ!\u201d declares Noone, before humorously singing \u201cCarteret\/Car-car-teret\u201d to the tune of \u201cBarbara Ann.\u201d Following a hilarious impression of Johnny Cash\u2019s \u201cRing of Fire,\u201d Noone performs an upbeat cover version of the Clovers\u2019 1959 classic, \u201cLove Potion \u2116 9,\u201d and gets the crowd clapping along to a bouncy rendition of 1966\u2019s \u201cDandy.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Fans sway with glow sticks to The Monkees\u2019 \u201cDaydream Believer\u201d before Noone presents a rollicking interpretation of Frankie Ford\u2019s \u201cSea Cruise\u201d accompanied by Rich Spina on keyboard.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Four-part harmonies ring out on a lovely version of \u201cO Holy Night\u201d before Noone talks about his 1965 album \u2014\u00a0The Best of Herman\u2019s Hermits\u00a0\u2014 and a fan lends him a copy of the LP which he holds in front of his face while singing \u201cLeaning on a Lampost.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the poignant \u201cEast West,\u201d Noone and the Hermits present a driving punk rock arrangement of \u201cJingle Bells\u201d which has music lovers happily singing along under flashing lights.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Noone stands between Sullivan and Brescia and delivers a rockin\u2019 rendition of his 1965 hit, \u201cA Little Bit Better,\u201d before Vance Brescia high kicks as he plays guitar.<\/p>\n

A fast-picking guitar intro leads into Herman\u2019s Hermits\u2019 1965 remake of The Rays\u2019 \u201cSilhouettes\u201d where fans sway along with Peter to the music.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Vance Brescia accompanies Peter on guitar on the lovely ballad, \u201cWhen a Child is Born.\u201d The crowd cheers and Noone performs \u201cListen People\u201d where he captivates the audience crooning the song\u2019s \u201cEverybody\u2019s got to love somebody sometime\u201d message.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Noone\u2019s strong vocal is spotlighted on a rockin\u2019 version of \u201cJezebel.\u201d Billy Sullivan renders an electric guitar solo before the song builds in intensity and Noone holds out a long note on the coda to enthusiastic cheers and applause.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Joking, \u201cThis one\u2019s a downer \u2014 I hope you like it!\u201d Peter demonstrates his keen vocal abilities on a heartfelt version of his 1965 ballad, \u201cThe End of the World.\u201d Then, the crowd sings along with Noone and the band on \u201cWhite Christmas\u201d before he announces, \u201cSecond verse, same as the first,\u201d and the audience serenades him as he listens from the stage.<\/p>\n

Joking again, \u201cLet\u2019s do one of my dad\u2019s tunes!\u201d Noone struts back and forth impersonating Mick Jagger to The Rolling Stones\u2019 \u201cStart Me Up,\u201d before launching into a spirited version of Herman\u2019s Hermits\u2019 1965 hit, \u201cCan\u2019t You Hear My Heartbeat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Billy Sullivan\u2019s and Vance Brescia\u2019s staccato strumming guitars accompany \u201cRudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Concertgoers sing along with Peter on his 1965 #1 smash, \u201cMrs. Brown You\u2019ve Got a Lovely Daughter.\u201d They also join in vocalizing on a raucous rendition of Herman\u2019s Hermits\u2019 1965 hit, \u201cI\u2019m Henry the VIII, I Am,\u201d where Noone concludes the performance by showing the audience his socks with flags on them \u2014 one American and one British.<\/p>\n

The crowd sings and swings as Noone performs his final number of the evening, a nostalgic rendition of the Herman\u2019s Hermits \u2018classic 1967 recording, \u201cThere\u2019s a Kind of Hush.\u201d<\/p>\n

Segueing into an a cappella rendition of \u201cSilent Night\u201d before streaming back into \u201cThere\u2019s a Kind of Hush,\u201d Noone exclaims, \u201cGood night and God bless! Merry Christmas!\u201d to the standing, cheering crowd.<\/p>\n

As music lovers make their way out of the auditorium, several comment on tonight\u2019s performance by Peter Noone and Herman\u2019s Hermits. Exclaims Stacie from Ocean Gate, \u201cIt was an amazing show! When I was eight years old I had eight siblings who were older than me and I remember listening to a lot of Herman\u2019s Hermits\u2019 songs. To this day, I can still remember many of the lyrics, so tonight\u2019s show brought back a lot of memories for me. I really enjoyed it!\u201d<\/p>\n

Terry from Toms River reveals, \u201cI thought it was a good show \u2014 Peter\u2019s always good! Although I wish he would have played longer, he sounded amazing. He\u2019s such a showman, he really got me into the holiday spirit!\u201d<\/p>\n

Declares Anita from Roselle Park, \u201cI loved Peter Noone tonight; I\u2019ve always loved him! It was a fun show and I loved seeing it here at this venue where there\u2019s not a bad seat in the house and the acoustics are really good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lastly, Chris from Union Beach insists, \u201cIt was a fantastic show, and I especially loved it when they did \u2018O Holy Night.\u2019 My brother, Joe, brought me here as a birthday present. We\u2019ve seen Peter Noone before and he always has such unbelievable energy. He still sounds as great as he did when he first started performing and you know what? He really loves his audiences \u2014 I\u2019d see him again in a second!\u201d<\/p>\n
