Photo via the New York Hall of Science. <\/p>\n<p>\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t Search our comprehensive guide to <a href=\"https:\/\/events.qns.com\/?utm_source=qns&amp;utm_medium=oneliner&amp;utm_campaign=thingstodo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">things to do in Queens<\/a> for more local events \u2014 or <a href=\"https:\/\/events.qns.com\/add-your-event\/?utm_source=qns&amp;utm_medium=oneliner&amp;utm_campaign=thingstodo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">submit your own<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nysci.org\/space-glide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The New York Hall of Science (NYSCI)<\/a> has opened Space Glide, an interactive rink allowing guests to \u201cglide through the cosmos\u201d for the next two months.<\/p>\n<p>The rink, which opened on Friday, Dec. 19, will be open until Feb. 22 at NYSCI, located at 47-01 111th St. in <a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/neighborhoods\/corona\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Corona<\/a>.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-594934\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Copyright-New-York-Hall-of-Science-Bowery-Image-Group_13.jpg\" alt=\"Photo courtesy of the New York Hall of Science. \" width=\"700\" height=\"467\"  \/>Photo courtesy of the New York Hall of Science\n<\/p>\n<p>Space Glide features no ice or skates and instead features an eco-friendly, ice-like surface called \u201cGlice,\u201d a polymer-based substance that does not require people to wear skates. Visitors can glide around the Glice in special sock-like \u201cbooties\u201d provided by NYSCI, making the rink accessible to people of all ages and abilities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-594936\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/NYSCI-2.jpg\" alt=\"Photo courtesy of the New York Hall of Science. \" width=\"700\" height=\"438\"  \/>Photo courtesy of the New York Hall of Science<\/p>\n<p>The rink will also feature projections on the Glice and around the room to simulate gliding through space, NYSCI said. The museum said the rink aims to provide an \u201cintergalactic adventure\u201d for visitors of all ages by combining the thrill of gliding with the \u201cawe of space exploration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-594933\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Copyright-New-York-Hall-of-Science-Bowery-Image-Group_12.jpg\" alt=\"Photo via the New York Hall of Science. \" width=\"700\" height=\"467\"  \/>Photo via the New York Hall of Science<\/p>\n<p>Space-themed projections at the newly opened rink include an array of open source imagery provided by NASA.<\/p>\n<p>Space Glide is free with entry to NYSCI during regular hours and costs $6 during free admission hours on Fridays between 2 and 5 p.m. Cool Culture pass holders can also pay $6 to visit the rink without having to enter the museum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Guests glide through NYSCI\u2019s \u201cSpace Glide\u201d rink.
