It\u2019s alarming to think of the ways it could have played out,\u201d said Jasmine Griffin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Security cameras show a private hauler garbage truck crashing into unoccupied cars along First Avenue and swerving toward East 101st Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/pix11.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:More: Latest News from Around the Tri-State;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"> More: Latest News from Around the Tri-State <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Residents say the woman made the block feel like home during her strolls with a walker on the block.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cShe\u2019s known for watering the flowers during the summer. It\u2019s sad because she took care of the community. It\u2019s a wild accident,\u201d said Jose.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Investigators were on scene through the afternoon. A cause has not been announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A tow truck removed the private hauler\u2019s truck, which is based in Clifton, NJ. A call to the company was not returned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Neighbors want to know what caused the crash. Some did raise concerns about speeding on the avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Records from the Department of Buildings show the shed was permitted in 2023 through February 2026 with current inspections. The structure was installed due to issues with the exterior of the building.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It will be rebuilt, according to officials.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
