The father of a 4-year-old Bronx girl who died after she was found unconscious in her apartment Friday \u201cbeat the baby up,\u201d the family\u2019s neighbor alleged to The Post Saturday. <\/p>\n
Police officers responded to the girl\u2019s apartment on Barnes Avenue in Williamsbridge around 9:15 a.m., after her apparently lifeless body was discovered by family members, police said.<\/p>\n
The girl was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center but couldn\u2019t be saved, cops said.<\/p>\n

A neighbor claimed he heard the father beating the girl.<\/p>\n
\u201cAround 8 a.m. I heard him beating the baby and I heard the baby crying,\u201d the neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous, said. <\/p>\n
\u201cI had heard them before but not like that. I went to knock on the door. When I left the baby was still alive.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s the problem,\u201d the neighbor said.<\/p>\n
The girl\u2019s mom, who was wearing pajamas, and dad, who was in a bathrobe, declined to comment when reached at their apartment Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI dont even know what happened,\u201d the mother told The Post.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet me grieve,\u201d said the mother, who appeared to have bruises on her arm. \u201cI just gave a birthday party for my daughter at Chuck E. Cheese. Now I don\u2019t have my daughter anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

She then went upstairs.<\/p>\n
The father kept his head lowered and didn\u2019t comment.<\/p>\n
The child wasn\u2019t publicly identified. An autopsy is scheduled.<\/p>\n
