SUNSET PARK \u2014 ANARACHIST ORGANIZERS INTEND to host their annual New Year\u2019s Eve \u201cnoise demo\u201d outside the Metropolitan Detention Center in Sunset Park this week, in solidarity with incarcerated people, according to NYC Anarchist Black Cross<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The demonstration is set for 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, outside the federal jail on 29th Street between Second and Third avenues. Participants are encouraged to bring air horns, drums, and \u201canything that is loud\u201d to ensure the noise reaches the inmates.<\/p>\n

Organizers describe the event as \u201cboth protest and celebration,\u201d framing it as direct solidarity rather than an appeal to authorities. The event coincides with what they call the \u201cnoisiest night of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n
