{"id":84826,"date":"2025-12-30T18:29:08","date_gmt":"2025-12-30T18:29:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/84826\/"},"modified":"2025-12-30T18:29:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T18:29:08","slug":"the-latest-nyc-new-years-eve-weather-forecast-will-it-snow-at-midnight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/84826\/","title":{"rendered":"The latest NYC New Year\u2019s Eve weather forecast: Will it snow at midnight?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"VAD3TYJH3VAVLEG7DCOQZBNBKA\">STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Could snow mix with the confetti set to fall in Times Square during the ball drop Wednesday night?<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"TRGPSW33NVBI3KPFCY5NVRBE4E\">According to the latest forecast, it\u2019s possible. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"AHQXSOSFPBGFHPUUI57C2VHFNU\">While it may not necessarily begin snowing around midnight, New York City residents can expect some snowflakes to ring in the New Year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"2GFV2CY4QFCM3DEI3J6IMVKA3A\">Tuesday marks yet another day in which the city is experiencing chilly conditions amid what Dave Dombek, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.accuweather.com\">AccuWeather<\/a> senior meteorologist, identified as a cold pattern.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"LEXHOISMMJFNNLS64S6LDCGTXE\">Windy conditions, which began Monday evening, will continue through Tuesday afternoon. The day is set to only record a high around the freezing mark of 32 degrees, Dombek explained, and a low of about 25.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"TV4Z7ZK4VVGIDK5JGTDHFOORIQ\">Gusts will reach about 30 mph, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\">National Weather Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"KXATJL2LO5H7DHVCRJO3HOMPIA\">\u201cWe do expect a few flurries to be in the air at times late tonight (Tuesday) and maybe into early tomorrow (Wednesday),\u201d Dombek told the Advance\/SILive.com.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"IXDAFVNNGJGC5GZ4IVZWJSSR5M\">Flurries could appear between midnight and 9 a.m. Wednesday. Any snow that does come down will result in nothing more than a dusting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"BKPOQH7NVNHGFHJCXPQ24BJJCU\">\u201cAnd then that [flurries] passes, that\u2019ll move on by and get out of here later in the morning and midday, and then tomorrow afternoon it will just be kind of a brisk, cold, but dry afternoon weather-wise,\u201d added Dombek.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"7QDJLNBEQVEINLHT3EGPXWA4EU\">Wednesday\u2019s high is forecast to reach 34 degrees Fahrenheit in the city.<\/p>\n<p>The weather forecast for NYE<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Q5IGUESHQNFTLMBT2PTITDGQYI\">New Year\u2019s Eve will feature mostly cloudy skies and the approach of a moisture-starved clipper-style system.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"NUAYAD43BNGKBIIRAWC7HBEGWU\">\u201cWe do expect that system to, at the very least, produce some flurries for us, some flakes of snow, maybe not right away tomorrow night, but sometime later in the evening after 9 or 10 o\u2019clock, 11 o\u2019clock, as we head toward midnight,\u201d Dombek said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"5O776CGH2BAS5HGBOGFJTIIYAY\">At some point in the late evening hours and into Thursday morning, it is possible for some light snow to come down for a couple of hours. According to Dombek, this snow could result in a dusting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"LEWKJEZBENC6RP4G6MSQ6QEL3U\">Dave Radell, a meteorologist with the weather service, does not believe snow will begin until 4 a.m. or 5 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ODPK4XFVNBHRJLHGYTN27WBNT4\">Temperatures will be around freezing by the time the ball drops Wednesday.
