Hopkinsville Fire Department<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKentucky, there has been a train derailment in Todd County, and local emergency management has issued a shelter-in-place for the City of Trenton,\u201d Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear wrote on Facebook. \u201cPlease follow local guidance and stay safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Images from the scene of the wreck show the banged-up freight cars blocking the railroad tracks, with the white chemical leaking from at least one car.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said the scene was brought under control and the shelter order was lifted around 11 a.m., with no injuries or damage to nearby homes reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt could have been catastrophic,\u201d Todd County Executive Todd Mansfield WZTV News.<\/p>\n<p>Austin Staton, a spokesman for CSX Transportation, one of the leading rail companies in the country, told The Post on Tuesday that the incident is under investigation.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38056923\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/scene-derailed-csx-train-todd-118033012.jpg\" alt=\"The scene of a derailed CSX train in Todd County, Kentucky.\" class=\"wp-image-38056923\"  \/>Molten sulfur can cause burns and spew hydrogen sulfide into the air.
