Revelers are being forced to layer<\/a> on up to four Depends adult diapers\u2014 with peddlers selling pairs for $50 a pop \u2014 because once you get in the pen,\u00a0you can\u2019t leave for bathroom emergencies,\u00a0sellers told The Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s funny til it\u2019s not,\u201d said Orlando Mendez, 38, who was hawking the plastic panties on Sixth Avenue near West 44th Street. \u201cDesperation sets the price.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are no bathrooms in there at all. Once [people] are in, they can\u2019t come back out. This is a real problem,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mendez of The Bronx had\u00a0already \u201cdiscreetly\u201d sold two pairs of the diapers, for $50 each, to two women, one youngish and the other middle-aged, by noon on New Year\u2019s Eve<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cSurprisingly, a lot of people are already wearing diapers,\u201d he said. \u201cThe early birds and the die-hards know the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the diaper hawkers said a female reveler revealed she already had on four of her own pairs of adult diapers.<\/p>\n

Mendez said his potty-centric hustle was inspired by the cash he recently made slinging Christmas trees.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had been selling Christmas trees and I felt like this was the next holiday thing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s New Year\u2019s Eve is expected to be the coldest Dec. 31 in New York since 2017. Robert Miller<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the New York hustle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kimberly Myers, 55, preschool teacher\u00a0from Santa Monica, Calif.,\u00a0 came prepared for the ball drop by wearing a diaper and bringing an extra one along with panty liners.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She also stocked up on survival-gear-style supplies to brave the crowd and the cold \u2014 including trail mix, lidocaine for knee pain, thermal leggings, hand warmers, grapes, pumpkin seeds and Tums.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I\u2019m prepared but still a little nervous,\u201d she said. \u201cThis morning it was like 25 degrees.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so excited.
