MIDWOOD \u2014 POLICE HAVE ARRESTED a 19-year-old suspect in a November shooting that critically injured a Brooklyn high school basketball player, reports the New York Post<\/a>, as the victim continues a long recovery.<\/p>\n

The NYPD said Isaiah Greaves was taken into custody on Dec. 17 in connection with the Nov. 30 shooting near Avenue J and East 16th Street in Midwood. Investigators say a bullet struck 16-year-old Nana Donkor in the back while he was waiting for a bus, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. Police believe Donkor was not the intended target and that a second suspect remains at large.<\/p>\n

Greaves has been charged with attempted murder, felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He was ordered held without bail and is due back in court Jan. 7.<\/p>\n

Donkor\u2019s mother said the arrest does not undo the damage. \u201cGetting [Greaves] is not going to bring my son back,\u201d she told the Post. \u201cThey have to be jailed.\u201d<\/p>\n
