An Upstate New York mother has been charged with manslaughter after fatally hitting her teen son with a car, according to police.<\/p>\n

WHEC<\/a> reports Aneka Connor, 38, was arrested Tuesday over the Oct. 10 incident that killed her 16-year-old son Ca\u2019hry Gibson. Police said they were arguing over the boy\u2019s cell phone when Connor left her Rochester home and got into her vehicle; Gibson allegedly jumped onto the vehicle as she attempted to back out of the driveway.<\/p>\n

Investigators said video evidence showed the vehicle \u201caccelerating forward at a high rate of speed\u201d and Gibson \u201cfalling off the vehicle to the pavement,\u201d according to WHAM<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Police said Gibson was found unconscious and rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he died of his injuries on Nov. 7. The child\u2019s father, Christopher Gibson, told WHEC that Ca\u2019hry was on a ventilator for weeks with no signs of progression.<\/p>\n

RPD said the case was turned over the Monroe County District Attorney\u2019s Office and presented to a Monroe County Grand Jury. A sealed indictment warrant was issued for Connor last week.<\/p>\n

Connor has been charged with manslaughter, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child. She was remanded to the Monroe County Jail with bail set at $35,000 cash.<\/p>\n
