BOROUGH PARK, Brooklyn (PIX11) \u2014 Officials are investigating the cause of a Brooklyn apartment fire that sent nearly 30 people to the hospital, according to the FDNY.<\/p>\n
Calls came in for the residential fire at 1270 54th St. between 132nd Ave. and 12th Ave. in Borough Park just after 7:10 a.m. Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
More Local News <\/a><\/p>\n According to officials, the report was for a first-floor fire in the four-story apartment building. The fire was under control around 8:15 a.m., officials said. Citizen video<\/a> showed crews in front of the residence with broken windows on the second and third floors as well.<\/p>\n Twelve units and 60 emergency responders were on the scene.<\/p>\n The FDNY officials said 27 people were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.<\/p>\n The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, officials said.<\/p>\n Spencer Gustafson is a digital content producer from Long Island who has covered New York state and city news since 2023.
