WILLOWBROOK, Staten Island (WABC) — Three firefighters were hurt while battling a two-alarm house fire on Staten Island early Friday morning.<\/p>\n

Heavy flames could be seen throughout the three stories of the home.<\/p>\n

The fire broke out just after 5:20 a.m. on Norwalk Avenue near Manor Road.<\/p>\n

Windy conditions hampered the efforts of firefighters, as they struggled to bring the fire under control.<\/p>\n

Firefighters worked to prevent the spread of the fire to other homes nearby. The heat of the fire melted the siding on neighboring homes.<\/p>\n

Three firefighters were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.<\/p>\n

The cause of the fire is under investigation.<\/p>\n
