{"id":87621,"date":"2026-01-02T20:55:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-02T20:55:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/87621\/"},"modified":"2026-01-02T20:55:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-02T20:55:09","slug":"wakefield-in-the-bronx-filed-the-most-311-complaints-in-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/87621\/","title":{"rendered":"Wakefield in the Bronx filed the most 311 complaints in 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bronx is home to the biggest whiners.<\/p>\n<p>A corner of the borough blitzed the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/03\/11\/us-news\/nypd-will-now-track-if-cops-respond-to-soaring-311-complaints-as-commissioner-pushes-quality-of-life-crackdown\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">city\u2019s 311 center<\/a> with the most complaints of any neighborhood in 2025, city data shows.<\/p>\n<p>Wakefield is apparently besieged by ear-blasting noise, according to the whopping 153,082 service calls placed in its zip code, 10466, between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31 of last year.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.64365971;display:block\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38079746\" width=\"970\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/wakefield-bronx-118152195.jpg\" alt=\"A view of a home in Wakefield.\" class=\"wp-image-38079746\"  \/>Wakefield logged the most complaints of any neighborhood in 2025, according to 311 data. Google Maps<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s roughly 100,000 more complaints than what the neighborhood with the second-highest number of complains filed in the same timeframe.<\/p>\n<p>The runner up, Flatbush in Brooklyn, or zip 11226, logged 50,918 calls to the non-emergency line.<\/p>\n<p>Williamsbridge and Highbridge, also in the Bronx took third and fourth place with 48,730 and 48,420 calls, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The increasingly trendy Ridgewood, Queens came in fifth place, with zip code 11385 making 46,409 complaints.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the Big Apple made 3,550,018 complaints to the call center in 2025, a 2.7% increase from last year.<\/p>\n<p>Like Wakefield, the biggest gripe across the city was illegal parking, overtaking noise, which was the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/01\/07\/lifestyle\/the-number-one-reason-new-yorkers-called-311-last-year\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">biggest annoyance of 2024.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>More than 577,000 of the service calls were dedicated to the drivers ditching their cars in bus lanes, blocked fire hydrants and more.<\/p>\n<p>But noise was also a major issue for the city that never sleeps \u2014 there were 463,349 residential noise complaints and another 173,049 street and sidewalk calls. <\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.53523238;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38079748\" width=\"906\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/4-22-25-three-large-103121327.jpg\" alt=\"A hand holds a noise reader.\" class=\"wp-image-38079748\"  \/>Almost all of the complaints in Wakefield pertained to noise. Gregory P. Mango<\/p>\n<p>Most were dedicated to loud music and partying, with another chunk pertaining to banging, but there was also thousands of complaints against \u201cloud talking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Big Apple also found issues with rat sightings, garbage storage, blocked bike lanes and more.<\/p>\n<p>There were also dozens of complaints for illegal animals \u2014 including a few about monkeys.<\/p>\n<p>More than 840 calls have already been made just two days into the new year, with 38% complaining about noise.<\/p>\n<p>Queens logged the first gripe of 2026, with an eagle-eyed resident reporting a pothole on Hempstead Avenue in the Rockaways.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Bronx is home to the biggest whiners.
