{"id":88235,"date":"2026-01-03T17:19:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-03T17:19:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/88235\/"},"modified":"2026-01-03T17:19:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-03T17:19:07","slug":"staten-island-community-boards-announce-first-meetings-of-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/88235\/","title":{"rendered":"Staten Island Community Boards announce first meetings of 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"AX4CY7NVFFCNBGEKKNSTIOCPZI\">STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Two of Staten Island\u2019s three Community Boards will resume committee meetings the week of Monday, Jan. 5.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"QB6Z2S64GZG7VHX5FYOBVADZBM\">While not full board meetings, topics such as land use applications and liquor licenses are just a few of the items up for public discussion next week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"34BWFJE6ANCMDPSQGRZFPWOO3E\">Below is the schedule, provided by representatives from Staten Island\u2019s Community Boards.<\/p>\n<p>Community Board 1<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"CU5Z27LQ5JCT3H5G4ZMGVQH3RE\">Community Board 1 has no meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Community Board 2<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ENLZVLZGWRHEHDYXFUX4M5TJRI\">On Tuesday, Jan. 6, the Community Board 2 Land Use Committee will meet at 7 p.m. in the first floor conference room at 1110 South Ave., Travis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"O53JNDPIKRBQPHIVQ7IWEDIFYI\">The committee will review an application filed with the Department of Buildings to reapportion one single lot at 374 Greeley Ave. \u2014 Block 3703, Lot 33 \u2014 into five separate tax lots. <\/p>\n<p>Community Board 3<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"PR5NNNIVRZCEBOQWSFB6WHMOOU\">Community Board 3 will host several public hearings next week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"TT5JNWADVJFYRKI7D73D4FGAWM\">At 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6, two speakers will present to the board\u2019s Health and Human Services Committee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"CCVZWLZSM5D7ZOU3XMIWPDNP24\">First, Brent Alexander, executive director of Center For Hope Staten Island, will speak about expanding services for older adults, youth, and individuals with developmental disabilities in the borough. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"BPCZOT3MPJGTDJ5XGSZ57LVMWI\">Ann Anesta from the Organization for NYC Public Service Retirees will also speak with the board about diminishing health-care benefits for public service employees, which the group says are threatened.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"DFH2GCP44JAM7I7PKEEMI7IHEE\">On Wednesday, Jan. 7, the Traffic and Transportation Committee will have a meeting at 6:30 p.m., but no agenda was provided.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ZAJIAMKEG5CEJPRGQEIVXEV3W4\">Then at 7 p.m., the Community Alliance Committee will consider two liquor license applications. First, a new license for G\u2019s Cheesesteaks, 2955 Veterans Road West in Charleston.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"QUIRZC4QEZGMPK7VMZGWUNA44U\">The committee will also consider a class change with the New York State Liquor Authority for Pizzaioli, 694 Arthur Kill Rd. in Eltingville.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"IHO3NZJBNRCBDOTDNLTB2NB3KY\">All meetings will be held in the Community Board office located at 1243 Woodrow Road.<\/p>\n<p>Open to the public<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"KQZT2CK3HJHBDGYKZZVFJREOHU\">All Community Board meetings and meetings of their committees are open to the public. They provide an excellent opportunity for residents to learn about happenings in their neighborhood and surrounding areas.
