New York Giants<\/a> quarterback Russell Wilson, in his year-end locker clean-out interview on Monday, revealed he suffered a grade 2 hamstring tear<\/a> on the final play of practice the Friday before the team’s Week 2 matchup at the Dallas Cowboys.<\/p>\n

Determined to play in the heated rivalry game, Wilson kept the injury completely secret from the Giants’ coaching staff and medical team.<\/p>\n

Despite limited mobility — he later admitted he “probably couldn\u2019t run from the goal line to the 10-yard line” — Wilson delivered a strong performance, throwing for 450 yards and three touchdowns in a thrilling 40-37 overtime loss. He even sought discreet treatment at the Dallas Mavericks’ facility to avoid detection.<\/p>\n

The undisclosed injury lingered throughout the season, contributing to Wilson’s struggles and the Giants’ 0-3 start. Then-head coach Brian Daboll eventually benched him in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart.<\/p>\n

The revelation, as Wilson departs with his contract expiring, could trigger an NFL investigation into the undisclosed injury.<\/p>\n
