Kathy Hochul and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani are making an announcement marking one year of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/nyc-congestion-pricing-greenwich-village-midtown-manhattan-businesses\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">congestion pricing<\/a> in New York City Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The two are being joined by MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes as Mamdani has promised to deliver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/zohran-mamdani-new-york-city-free-buses-kathy-hochul\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">free buses for New York City residents<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/live\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vanity-rewritten=\"true\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CBS News New York<\/a> is carrying live coverage of their announcement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hochul said traffic in the congestion zone is down by 11% sine the start of the program. She said 27 million fewer cars entered the zone. Hochul said travel times through the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels are both down.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Anyone trying to kill this program, tell it to the judge, because they&#8217;re going to be on our side,&#8221; Hochul said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hochul said the opposition to congestion pricing has diminished as people have seen the positive outcome thus far.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a program that has been successful no matter how you measure it,&#8221; Mamdani said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is good government in action,&#8221; Lieber said. &#8220;This demonstrates what business-like government management can accomplish.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n        More from CBS News\n      <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"New York Gov.
