In New York City today, members of the Kennedy family gathered for the funeral of Taitana Schlossberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Schlossberg passed away at the end of December at just 35 years old after a battle with acute myeloid leukemia. She revealed her cancer diagnosis in a powerful essay<\/a> for the New Yorker a month prior, writing, \u201cFor my whole life, I have tried to be good, to be a good student and a good sister and a good daughter, and to protect my mother and never make her upset or angry. Now I have added a new tragedy to her life, to our family\u2019s life, and there\u2019s nothing I can do to stop it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schlossberg\u2019s funeral was held at The Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola; those pictured arriving for the service included her parents, Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg, her siblings Jack Schlossberg and Rose Schlossberg, her husband George Moran, and their two young children, son Edwin and daughter Josephine. Other members of the Kennedy family<\/a> in attendance included Kerry Kennedy and Joe Kennedy III.<\/p>\n

The setting was particularly poignant; the lUpper East Side church was where Jackie Kennedy\u2019s funeral was held 32 years ago, in May 1994.<\/p>\n

Other mourners included David Letterman and Carolina Herrera, who designed Schlossberg\u2019s wedding dress.<\/p>\n

Earlier today, the JFK Library Foundation shared a new photo of Schlossberg<\/a>, taken on Martha\u2019s Vineyard in September. The picture shows her with her husband and their two children. \u201cAs we remember Tatiana and celebrate her life, our hearts are with her family and all who loved her,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n
