WASHINGTON (TNND) \u2014 New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani\u2019s<\/a> tenant director Cea Weaver had a resurfaced tweet come up that said she believes home ownership is a tool of white supremacy.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrivate property including and kind of ESPECIALLY homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy masquerading as \u2018wealth building\u2019 public policy,\u201d the tweet, uncovered by conservative account \u201cLibs of TikTok\u201d reads.<\/p>\n

The tweet was posted on August 21, 2019, when X was called Twitter.<\/p>\n

She tweeted about home ownership being a tool of white supremacy, has been deleted.<\/p>\n

In the past, Weaver has called to \u201cseize private property\u201d and at one point, she called to \u201cimpoverish the white middle class,\u201d according to The Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, there was a video going viral of Weaver saying that white people who own property will have a different relationship with property going forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the reality is that for centuries we have really treated property as an individualized good and not a collective good,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd we are transitioning to treating it as a collective good and a model of shared equity.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said that white families and some POC families who are homeowners will have a different relationship with property.<\/p>\n
