{"id":91756,"date":"2026-01-07T00:23:15","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T00:23:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/91756\/"},"modified":"2026-01-07T00:23:15","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T00:23:15","slug":"new-york-giants-request-interview-with-lou-anarumo-for-head-coach-position","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/91756\/","title":{"rendered":"New York Giants request interview with Lou Anarumo for head coach position"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"EAVAJTN2HVEEPKPMSALJYO2ALU\">STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. &#8212; As expected, the New York Giants have reached out to the Indianapolis Colts to ask permission to speak with Staten Island product Lou Anarumo for Big Blue\u2019s head coaching vacancy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/giants-request-interview-with-lou-anarumo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/giants-request-interview-with-lou-anarumo\">according to profootballtalk.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"QZJVUJSYIJFXPB37TJ2MK2EMRE\">Anarumo is currently under contract by the Colts as the team\u2019s defensive coordinator, but can get out of the deal if another team hires him as a head coach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"MKCLE5D6Q5BXZNZ4Y7J7PIK5AM\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.silive.com\/giants\/2026\/01\/giants-initial-list-of-coaching-candidates-emerges.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.silive.com\/giants\/2026\/01\/giants-initial-list-of-coaching-candidates-emerges.html\">Three days ago, SILive.com reported <\/a>that the Susan Wagner High School and Wagner College product was on the Giants\u2019 initial coaching list. The Giants dismissed head coach Brian Daboll two months ago after three and a half tumultuous seasons. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"FML7NM3725H27I5LJG4J2JZW6M\">Anarumo, 59, is familiar with the Giants landscape as he was the team\u2019s defensive backs coach in 2018.
