Gamblers think that Vice President JD Vance is suddenly losing support from a key figure for his expected 2028 run for the presidency. <\/p>\n

On the Polymarket legal betting site,<\/a> bettors are wagering that there\u2019s just a 14% chance that President Donald Trump will endorse Vance for president before 2027. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s in stark contrast to the wagering as recently as Dec. 22, 2025, when gamblers said that there was an overwhelming 45% chance that Trump would give his loyal veep the nod before next year. <\/p>\n

The numbers for a Trump endorsement of Vance began cratering days later. <\/p>\n

The news comes as it\u2019s been reported<\/a> that the president\u2019s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., is showing some increasing polling strength when it comes to the 2028 Republican Party nomination for president. <\/p>\n

A McLaughlin & Associates poll in August had Vance at 36% support, with Trump Jr. far behind at 16%.<\/p>\n

But that gap narrowed in a survey in October, with Vance at 38% and Trump Jr. at 20%.<\/p>\n

A November survey then showed Vance slipping to 34% and Trump Jr. surging to 24%. <\/p>\n

Still, polls overall, including in key states like New Hampshire, have long shown Vance to be the favorite candidate to be the GOP nominee for president in 2028.<\/p>\n

Those placing bets on the next White House race on legal wagering sites also believe that Vance is far and away the favorite to land the GOP nomination. <\/p>\n

The Polymarket site shows<\/a> that 55% of gamblers believe that Vance will be the GOP nominee for president in three years. <\/p>\n

Secretary of State Marco Rubio is a distant second on that site, at 13.4%. <\/p>\n

President Trump has said that a GOP ticket of Vance and Rubio would be formidable in 2028. <\/p>\n
