The woman gunned down by an ICE agent in Minneapolis\u00a0<\/a>has been identified as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, who described herself as a mother, a wife and a poet.<\/p>\n

Good was identified by her mom hours after she was killed when she allegedly tried to ram ICE agents on a street in the city, the Star Tribune reported<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cRenee was one of the kindest people I\u2019ve ever known,\u201d her mother, Donna Ganger, told the newspaper.<\/p>\n

Video appeared to show her Honda Pilot making contact with an ICE agent as he opened fire. President Trump and other officials have said Good\u2019s killing was justified.<\/p>\n

Her mom added: \u201cShe was extremely compassionate. She\u2019s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was probably terrified,\u201d\u00a0Ganger added, saying the circumstances of the death were \u201cso stupid.\u201d<\/p>\n

Good was a \u201cwriter and poet,\u201d and was previously married to a comedian who died in 2023, also at age 37.<\/p>\n

\u201cWife and mom and sh\u2013ty guitar strummer from Colorado; experiencing Minneapolis,\u201d read her Instagram bio, which was accompanied by a pride flag and she\/her pronouns.<\/p>\n

She was killed in a middle class\u00a0neighborhood in south Minneapolis<\/a>\u00a0where ICE agents were carrying out an immigration operation Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Good was among several people who allegedly blocked the street with their vehicles to prevent the agents from moving, according to the Department of Homeland Security.<\/p>\n

Agents got out of their blocked truck and ordered the woman to move her SUV, at which point she sped toward one of the officers, pushing him with her vehicle. As he spun toward the driver\u2019s seat window, he fired three shots into the car, footage from numerous angles shows<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At least three bullets were fired in the altercation. The victim was shot in the head and declared dead. REUTERS<\/p>\n

She was shot at least once in the head, and later pronounced dead at the hospital.<\/p>\n

The Department of Homeland Security called her a domestic terrorist who attempted to kill federal agents.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them \u2014 an act of domestic terrorism,\u201d DHS assistant secretary for public affairs Tricia McLaughlin wrote on X.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the latest on the Minneapolis ICE agent shooting<\/p>\n

Good\u2019s mother was baffled by the idea of her being involved in an ICE protest, however, saying she was \u201cnot part of anything like that at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her SUV swiftly crashed into a row of parked cars as onlookers screamed in horror.<\/p>\n

Footage taken near the scene appeared to show a distraught woman claiming to be Good\u2019s wife \u2013 who sobbed as she said the shooting was \u201cher fault\u201d and that she had a young child at school.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey shot her in the head. I have a 6 year old in school,\u201d she appeared to say, telling a bystander that they were new to the area and she didn\u2019t know who to call.<\/p>\n

\u201cI made her come down here, it\u2019s my fault,\u201d she said. \u201cThey just shot my wife.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy did you have real bullets? She was yelling!\u201d the woman then appeared to scream at the nearby federal agents, who did not appear to pay attention to her.<\/p>\n

The woman\u2019s face appeared to be covered in blood, and she apparently had gone into the car and attempted to help Good, the witness filming the video said.<\/p>\n

Local leaders did not hide their outrage<\/a> over the killing as the footage began to spread.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo ICE, get the f\u2014k out of Minneapolis. We do not want you here,\u201d Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said<\/a> during a fiery press conference after the shooting.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of safety, and you are doing exactly the opposite,\u201d he scoffed.<\/p>\n

Gov. Tim Walz called the DHS\u2019 explanation of the shooting \u201cpropaganda.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve seen the video. Don\u2019t believe this propaganda machine,\u201d Walz wrote on X. \u201cThe state will ensure there is a full, fair, and expeditious investigation to ensure accountability and justice.\u201d<\/p>\n
