I am a concerned Staten Island resident. Where are the cops? Or is it a cop, or some other entitled person, that doesn\u2019t think the rules apply to him? I walk in the area of Prince\u2019s Bay and the other day, while I waited to cross the street, a car pulled up to a red light and blew right through it. <\/p>\n
He did it again a half a block away. It is not the first time I saw this happen. I see it so often that I now question, \u201cdid we change the law?\u201d New law: Stopping at a red light is merely a suggestion. What is going on? I have gone through a light by accident. One time I even went through a stop sign and was stopped by the police. Not anymore. I see so many dangerous road infractions that it makes me wonder if there are two sets of rules. <\/p>\n
Where are the cops? Is the city making so much money on the red light cameras and the speed cameras that we don\u2019t need cops anymore? Has this gone the way of the grocery store self ring on the registers?<\/p>\n
We cannot do this. The people in this borough need rules. Too many of these drivers don\u2019t care about the other guy. <\/p>\n
