A deathly pale Harvey Weinstein<\/a> on Thursday was rolled into Manhattan court \u2014 where talks were unfolding about a plea deal that would allow him to avoid a third sex crimes trial.<\/p>\n

The 73-year-old disgraced Hollywood producer was brought into the courtroom in a wheelchair for a hearing on whether he will face trial for a third time on charges of raping an aspiring actress inside a Midtown hotel.<\/p>\n

Judge Curtis Farber set a March 3 trial date \u2014 but then suggested that Weinstein lawyer Arthur Aidala huddle with prosecutors about a possible plea deal.<\/p>\n

Aidala had griped about Weinstein, who has various serious health ailments, languishing in lockup at notorious Rikers Island<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s in the worst place you can basically be,\u201d Aidala told the court. \u201cI need to get him out of there as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

After briefly leaving the courtroom to speak in a side room with Weinstein, Aidala announced that the ex-Miramax mogul and convicted sex pest was open to plea talks.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour honor, I did have the chance to speak with Mr. Weinstein, and I would like to pursue plea negotiations,\u201d Aidala said.<\/p>\n

At a third trial, Jessica Mann would be set to testify again <\/a>about the once-powerful studio boss allegedly raping her in 2013 at the DoubleTree hotel.<\/p>\n

Mann sobbed on the stand at the June retrial while describing Weinstein as turning into a \u201cmonster\u201d after she told him that she did not want to have sex.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe monster side would come out,\u201d she testified.<\/p>\n

Weinstein was convicted of raping Mann at his first trial, in 2020, and of forcing oral sex on former \u201cProject Runway\u201d production assistant Mimi Haley<\/a>. But the verdict was overturned in a bombshell ruling from New York\u2019s highest appeals court.<\/p>\n
