FLATBUSH \u2014 PRAISING THE EXPANSION OF UNIVERSAL CHILD CARE<\/a>, announced on Thursday, Jan. 8, State Senator Kristin Gonzalez, D-59, said, \u201cAs someone who plans to start a family in New York, I am relieved that our state is acting today on universal child care. I am so proud to have joined the Governor and Mayor to deliver on our promise to New Yorkers and make universal childcare a reality in New York State. Our working families and children deserve an affordable and dignified life, and I am committed to working with city and state leadership, my colleagues, and advocates to deliver for them.\u201d Senator Gonzalez\u2019s district encompasses portions of eastern Manhattan, northern Brooklyn and Queens.<\/p>\n

New York State\u2019s investment comes two days after the Trump administration announced its freeze of billions of dollars in childcare subsidy funding and cash support for low-income families in several states, including New York, reports the New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n
