With current locations in Nashville and Charleston, the expansion marks the latest chapter for the Scotto family, the legendary restaurateurs behind Nashville\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tracking.us.nylas.com\/l\/0bd3253655384304868778c8cc5134a2\/6\/b3a8074a15e7db0ea424061e7dcb768ced5e94d2c4328df434fa4d20e538fa63?cache_buster=1767706923\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Luogo<\/a>\u00a0and formerly New York\u2019s\u00a0Fresco by Scotto, who have built Pelato into one of the Southeast\u2019s most popular new restaurant concepts.<\/p>\n<p>Founded by Theresa and Anthony Scotto Jr. and their son Anthony Scotto III, Pelato is a modern yet nostalgic take on the family\u2019s Brooklyn Italian heritage, and a heartfelt tribute to the dishes that have defined generations of the Scotto family since their ancestors emigrated from Italy to New York in 1905. From Grandmother Theresa\u2019s Potato Croquettes and San Gennaro Zeppoles served in a paper bag (she still visits the kitchen twice a month to ensure they are being made correctly), to house-made pastas, sauces, breads, and desserts, every dish reflects the Scottos\u2019 dedication to family, tradition and hospitality.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Following the success of the flagship Pelato location in Nashville\u2019s Germantown neighborhood which opened in 2023, and the launch of its bustling Charleston outpost in 2025, the Franklin restaurant will bring the same signature warmth, commitment to scratch-made Brooklyn Italian fare, high quality ingredients, and approachable neighborhood hospitality that have made Pelato a favorite among locals, celebrities and travelers alike.<\/p>\n<p>The new 9,000-square-foot total Franklin space is being fully transformed by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tracking.us.nylas.com\/l\/0bd3253655384304868778c8cc5134a2\/7\/3744ef84e51451129e37ce23d929668c4860cde54304a3a3aab73beb3f1e6c94?cache_buster=1767706923\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MZA Architecture<\/a>, the Nashville-based design firm behind the Scotto\u2019s Nashville-based\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tracking.us.nylas.com\/l\/0bd3253655384304868778c8cc5134a2\/8\/93659bba78ee859388b30812a590e88b6c8d12dcd18a3d3a06baaaa67ba46cc1?cache_buster=1767706923\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Luogo<\/a>\u00a0restaurant. The restaurant will feature a large open bar, exposed ceilings and ductwork, wood trim accents, and Pelato\u2019s signature green, red, and white palette. Seating will accommodate 280 guests across the main dining room, private dining space, bar seating, and a 2,000-square-foot fully enclosed patio which features drop-down walls, heaters, and fans for a comfortable dining experience.<\/p>\n<p>Guests will enjoy the same menu of shareable small plates that\u2019s made Pelato a Nashville staple, including signature dishes such as Brooklyn-style\u00a0Fried Calamari, Radiatore Vodka, Burnt Broccolini, Bucatini Cacio e Pepe, Panelle, Chicken Parmigiana, and Pelato\u2019s beloved\u00a0Sunday Sauce\u00a0spread. All pastas are made in-house daily and include gluten-free pasta options that rival the traditional variety. Desserts will include classics such as house-made\u00a0Gelato,\u00a0Tiramisu, Rainbow Cookies, San Gennaro Zeppoles\u00a0and a rich\u00a0Dark Chocolate Budino.\u00a0The Pelato Franklin location will also offer an inventive beverage program with playful cocktails like its\u00a0Limoncello Margarita,\u00a0along with riffs on classics such as the\u00a0New York Sour, Espresso Old Fashioned, and frozen drinks such as the\u00a0Espresso Frozen Martini.<\/p>\n<p>Initially Pelato will open for dinner seven days a week, with brunch service added shortly after opening.
