STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 After two years of serving upscale seafood at The Boulevard shopping complex in New Dorp, Sea Bar closed its doors as 2025 came to a close. The owners announced the closure last month in a heartfelt Facebook post.<\/p>\n

On Dec. 17, 2025, Sea Bar\u2019s owners took to Facebook<\/a> to express appreciation for their customers and gratitude to their staff. <\/p>\n

\u201cTwo years ago, we opened our doors with a dream. This weekend, we close this location with nothing but gratitude,\u201d the owners wrote. \u201cTo every guest who supported us, celebrated milestones here, and made memories at our tables\u2014thank you. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou gave this restaurant its soul. To our incredible staff\u2014past and present\u2014you were the heartbeat of this place. Your passion, dedication, and hard work made every service unforgettable. While this chapter comes to an end here, our journey continues.\u201d<\/p>\n

Customers responded to the closure on Facebook with messages of support and nostalgia. One commenter wrote, \u201cMy husband and I loved your restaurant! You will be truly missed and I\u2019m sorry that we didn\u2019t get a chance to come one last time to say \u2018bye.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Another customer expressed disbelief at the closing, saying, \u201cWe can\u2019t believe you closed, we\u2019ve enjoyed so many of your meals and you\u2019ve always been so kind and welcoming. We\u2019re looking forward to seeing you again soon.\u201d <\/p>\n

Sea Bar opened in 2023 and was named one of Staten Island\u2019s best new restaurants that year<\/a>. The restaurant was recognized for its ocean-inspired menu and talented kitchen staff, described as offering \u201ca seat in the lofty main dining area [that] offers a ticket to another, more dreamy island with super fresh fish and Greek flavors to match.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sea Bar was part of a growing row of eateries at The Boulevard<\/a> that drew people from across the borough in New Dorp, sharing the neighborhood with other seafood spots such as Seabass Taverna and Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar.<\/p>\n

During its time in New Dorp, Sea Bar helped bring new attention to The Boulevard as a destination for seafood and fine dining. In their Facebook post, the owners hinted that \u201csomething exciting is coming soon,\u201d though they did not provide further details.<\/p>\n
