ROSEVILLE, Minn. \u2014\u00a0More than one thousand people crammed into a Minnesota church Saturday for \u201ctraining\u201d in how to deal with ICE in the wake of Renee Nicole Good\u2019s fatal shooting \u2014 during which the radical leftist organizer urged participants to annoy the agents like \u201cmosquitoes.\u201d<\/p>\n
Program sponsor\u00a0Monarca<\/a>\u00a0trains\u00a0so-called \u201cupstander legal observers\u201d to follow, track, report, and record Department of Homeland Security officers while they are in the midst of operations, and urged the mostly white, middle-aged and elderly attendees to attend protests with gas masks, sunglasses and phone chargers.<\/p>\n A Monarca training session at Roseville Lutheran Church on Saturday where over 1,000 people showed up to learn how to resist ICE enforcement. New York Post<\/p>\n \u201cAnd a pencil,\u201d they said. \u201cIn Minnesota, bring a pencil; a pen will freeze.\u201d<\/p>\n Speakers decried the ICE as a \u201cwhite supremacist police force that has no oversight,\u201d urging the crowd at Roseville Lutheran Church to be persistent in their confrontations.<\/p>\n Good, 37,\u00a0who was shot and killed Jan. 7 in an encounter with an ICE agent,\u00a0was part of\u00a0a\u00a0different\u00a0leftist group, \u201cICE Watch.\u201d<\/p>\n One\u00a0speaker blasted \u201cconservative men\u201d and spoke of\u00a0the alleged\u00a0\u201cmisogynist goals of a white person and nationalist movement that is strangling our nation.\u201d<\/p>\n Renee Good was a trained legal observer following ICE agents through Minneapolis when she was shot Another speaker, who explained just how aggressive legal observers were allowed to be, told trainees to annoy ICE agents \u201cjust like a mosquito.\u201d<\/p>\n Tables were set up at the front of the church\u00a0to hand out\u00a0whistles, which have been used by protesters to draw attention to ICE officers that they are shadowing.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s the latest on the Minneapolis ICE agent shooting:<\/p>\n The large crowd split up into groups affiliated with churches, schools, or neighborhoods\u00a0and shared anecdotes of rumored ICE encounters,\u00a0with some claiming their family members were \u201cin hiding\u201d and others\u00a0insisting\u00a0they knew\u00a0children who were \u201cstalked\u201d by agents while walking home from school.<\/p>\n One attendee was clear that she was motivated to participate in the protest movement because of Good\u2019s death.<\/p>\n \u201cI live about a mile away. I had to come. After what happened. I just can\u2019t stay at home any longer,\u201d the older female attendee\u00a0said.<\/p>\n A directive from the Monarca website. MONARCA<\/p>\n The 12-page manual given to attendees instructs them how to use whistles to alert others to ICE activities. They are also instructed not to livestream any interactions or post any video or photo materials onto social media.<\/p>\n Other instructions<\/a>\u00a0on the site tell legal observers and civilians not to \u201crun, argue, resist, or fight\u201d ICE officers.<\/p>\n After the outset of DHS\u2019s\u00a0Operation Midway Blitz<\/a>\u00a0in the Land of 10,000 Lakes last summer, Monarca deployed a downloadable packet called a \u201cweight station toolkit<\/a>\u201d on Oct. 31, informing inquirers of several locations, namely weight stations, where ICE would be conducting operations.<\/p>\n The group further gave out instructions on \u201cnarrative messaging\u201d that declares, \u201cNo matter our race, class, or background, we all want to live in safe and strong communities. But when the government increases militarized activity, none of us benefit. When our neighbors are targeted, all of us are at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n
