Protesters took to the streets in Manhattan for a march and rally organizers are calling “No War, No Kings, No ICE.\u201d<\/p>\n
Demonstrators marched from Central Park, passsed Trump Tower and the offices of Sens. Chuck Schumer’s and Kirsten Gillibrand, and ended near East 47th Street between First and Second avenues.<\/p>\n
The protest comes in response to two separate shootings involving federal immigration agents this week.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, 37-year-old Renee Good died after an ICE agent shot her in her car in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n
The Trump administration said the agent was acting in self-defense and claimed Good tried to run him over.<\/p>\n
Local officials in Minnesota said the shooting was not justified and are calling for ICE to leave the state.<\/p>\n
In Portland, two people were injured after the White House says a border patrol agent fired a defensive shot as a driver tried to run him over during a targeted traffic stop.<\/p>\n
Both the Trump administration and Portland Police say the two injured people had ties to a Venezuelan gang.<\/p>\n
The state of Oregon has opened its own investigation into that shooting.<\/p>\n
Protesters in the city said they want accountability.<\/p>\n
