STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 A QDOBA Mexican Eats restaurant in Tottenville has closed, marking an abrupt end for a location that opened in 2023 as part of the chain\u2019s Staten Island expansion. <\/p>\n

The restaurant at 7001 Amboy Road no longer displays QDOBA branding as of early January, and the company website lists it as \u201ctemporarily closed.\u201d QDOBA has not issued a statement or responded to requests for comment. It is unclear who currently operates the site.<\/p>\n

In 2023, The Integrity Group operated this location along with other QDOBA restaurants on Richmond Avenue, Amboy Road, and Woodrow Road. Those restaurants remain open.<\/p>\n

According to Nation\u2019s Restaurant News,<\/a> in December 2025 Doherty Enterprises\u2014one of the nation\u2019s largest franchise operators\u2014signed a development deal to open 27 QDOBA restaurants across select New York and New Jersey markets over the next several years. In early 2024,<\/a> Doherty also purchased Apple-Metro Inc.\u2019s 21 Applebee\u2019s restaurants in New York City, including all four Staten Island locations.<\/p>\n

Butterfly Equity<\/a> acquired QDOBA in 2022.<\/p>\n

When the Tottenville restaurant opened in 2023, QDOBA described it in a press release as the chain\u2019s fourth borough <\/a>location and a key part of its regional expansion strategy, promoting the launch with giveaways and free burritos or bowls for the first 100 customers. At the time, The Integrity Group emphasized nearly two decades of food\u2011service experience and stated a goal of growing its workforce from 400 to more than 1,000 employees within three to five years. The Staten Island openings were highlighted as examples of QDOBA\u2019s broader strategy.
