Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the city\u2019s first lady Rama Duwaji officially moved into Gracie Mansion on Monday \u2014 and were flush with ideas about the 227-year-old mayoral residence\u2019s bathrooms.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne thing that we will change is we will be installing a few bidets into Gracie Mansion,\u201d Mamdani said outside the Upper East Side landmark.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s an aspirational hope. We\u2019ll see if we can actually get it done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other than sprucing up the plumbing, the unapologetic progressive Mamdani promised not to let the stately surroundings change him.<\/p>\n
Hizzoner said he\u2019ll continue to take the subway, ride the bus and get on city bikes to commute from his new digs in Carl Schurz Park, at East End Avenue and 88th Street in Yorkville.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile there is no security deposit being put down today, Rama and I intend to strive each day to be the best possible custodians of this beautiful home, because we know that we are only its temporary occupants,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
