{"id":98241,"date":"2026-01-13T03:51:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T03:51:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/98241\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T03:51:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T03:51:06","slug":"bronx-man-sentenced-for-abusing-wheelchair-bound-teen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/98241\/","title":{"rendered":"Bronx man sentenced for abusing wheelchair-bound teen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 58-year-old Bronx man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for repeatedly sexually assaulting his girlfriend\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nassauda.org\/m\/newsflash\/Home\/Detail\/1910\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> wheelchair-bound daughter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Nassau County prosecutors said \u201cdisgusting predator\u201d Juan Caceres began sexually abusing the victim in 2011 and continued to do so for more than a decade.<\/p>\n<p>That included an extended period after a 2013 medical procedure left the victim <a href=\"https:\/\/rainn.org\/get-the-facts-about-sexual-violence-against-people-with-disabilities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">dependent on a wheelchair<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe defendant began regularly having sexual intercourse with her in her bed at night when she was unable to get up and walk away,\u201d prosecutors said Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Caceres was charged with touching his child victim inappropriately shortly after moving into her family\u2019s Port Washington home 15 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe conduct escalated, and the defendant began going into the victim\u2019s bedroom at night to sexually abuse her multiple times a week for more than a year,\u201d prosecutors said.<\/p>\n<p>The Nassau County District Attorney\u2019s office said that abuse continued until the victim became an adult. Caceres <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pdcn.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">surrendered to police<\/a> in December 2024 and was convicted of abusing the girl in November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJuan Caceres is a disgusting predator who stole a young girl\u2019s innocence and subjected her to regular and continuous sexual abuse for more than a decade,\u201d District Attorney Anne T.
