Next Gen NYC\u2019s Gia Giudice is a little disappointed with how she was portrayed on the show because it made her come off as a \u201cmini Teresa.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Context<\/p>\n

Next Gen NYC, one of Bravo\u2019s newest shows, chronicled the lives of several children of Real Housewives and their friends as they navigate life in New York City. It was Giudice\u2019s first time as a cast member on a Bravo show, although she\u2019s been seen on Real Housewives of New Jersey<\/a> since she was a child.<\/p>\n

Giudice has been launching her own career for years, cultivating a large online following, dropping merchandise, a podcast, and stepping out of her mom, Teresa\u2019s, reality show, and into her own. While blazing her own trail, the 24-year-old is still heavily connected to her mom and is hoping to show more of who she is independently of her mom on future seasons of Next Gen NYC.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What To Know\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Monday\u2019s episode of Giudice\u2019s podcast, Casual Chaos, she told former Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent that she had a good experience, but she also felt as if she was being portrayed as a \u201cmini Teresa,\u201d referencing her mom.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI think they were waiting for me to always have these mini Teresa moments because they love that nepo baby,\u201d Giudice said. \u201cI just hated giving that to them because I was like that\u2019s not me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Giudice\u2019s mother famously flipped a table at a restaurant in season one of Real Housewives of New Jersey and was known for her outbursts. Giudice acknowledged that she also can have a temper and has a big Italian personality, it\u2019s not who she is.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI genuinely have the biggest heart. I\u2019m a hustler, I\u2019m a hard worker and I guess I could say that I wish more of that was captured,\u201d Giudice told Kent. \u201cRather than mini Teresa moments.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old felt like the show focused mostly on her when she was getting a little heated, making it her \u201cmain moment\u201d and when she was being highlighted. Instead, she wishes she was being shown as a hard-working and loving person.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While Giudice had a positive time on the show, she said it also came with a lot of self-reflection. In the moment, she said she thought she was doing the right thing, but when she watched it back on television<\/a>, she realized she should have handled certain situations differently. She noted that she has a \u201cmom instinct\u201d and is a \u201cprotector\u201d but also needs to pull back sometimes because not everyone wants her opinion, even if it comes from a good place.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a mirror and I self reflected and now I know how I\u2019m going to be a better version of myself moving forward,\u201d Giudice said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Giudice grew up on reality television and fortunately, she said she thinks people who watched Real Housewives were able to see she is compassionate and she means well. Even if she \u201ccomes off harsh\u201d in some instances.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kent reassured Giudice that eventually all sides of her personality will come through the show and encouraged her to just \u201cmove on\u201d from season one.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What Happens Next<\/p>\n

NextGen NYC had great ratings and the cast has teased another season. Cast member Ariana Biermann said there was a lot of \u201cunresolved stuff\u201d that could be hashed out during season two, if there is one, and cast member Brooks Marks said he\u2019d love to see more of his sister, Chloe, on future seasons.\u00a0<\/p>\n
