A Chicago-based elementary school teacher mocked Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassination by using a sickening gun gesture at a No Kings\u00a0protest over the weekend.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lucy Martinez, a teacher at Nathan Hale Elementary School, put a finger to her neck and pretended to pull a trigger when a man driving by in a pickup\u00a0truck waved a flag calling the late podcaster a \u201chero,\u201d video shows. <\/p>\n

Multiple demonstrators flipped the bird at the counter-protester.<\/p>\n

Lucy Martinez, a Chicago public school teacher, was filmed mocking Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassination during a No Kings protest over the weekend. Instgram\/that84bullnose<\/p>\n

Kirk made a gun gesture with her fingers and pointed it at her neck in response to a counter-protestor displaying a flag calling Kirk a \u201chero.\u201d Instgram\/that84bullnose<\/p>\n

Martinez works at Nathan Hale Elementary School in the Windy City. Google Maps<\/p>\n

Kirk, 31, was killed when\u00a0Tyler Robinson allegedly shot him in the neck<\/a>\u00a0while the Turning Point USA founder was speaking at Utah State University last month.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear if Martinez was fired or faced any disciplinary action. The school\u2019s website was taken down after the incident surfaced online.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chicago Public Schools said it \u201cremains committed to creating and maintaining a welcoming, safe and inclusive teaching and learning environment, free from harassment, bias, or harm of any kind.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile CPS does not comment on specific\u00a0personnel matters the District follows a consistent process when allegations of misconduct are reported. Employees found to have violated Board policy are subject to disciplinary action.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chicago Public Schools put out a statement saying it doesn\u2019t \u201ccomment on personnel mattes\u201d in response to the backlash against Martinez. Nathan Hale Elementary School<\/p>\n

It is unclear if Martinez was fired or face disciplinary action for her behavior. Instgram\/that84bullnose<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the district referred The Post to the statement when asked if Martinez was fired. <\/p>\n

Video of the horrifying gesture quickly went viral, leading\u00a0to outrage. <\/p>\n
