A tribute was held for the late Bob Weir, of the Grateful Dead, at the Brooklyn Bowl Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n
Weir, a guitarist and singer in the iconic 60s band, died at the age of 78. According to organizers, Weir performed at the Bowl several times since it opened in 2009.<\/p>\n
Tuesday\u2019s event in Williamsburg featured performances by a Grateful Dead tribute band called Bushwick\u2019s Dead.<\/p>\n
Attendees shared how the loss of an icon is affecting them.<\/p>\n
“He’s a cultural icon. The Grateful Dead has been so important to this community of jam bands, improvisational music, classic rock,\u201d said Gideon Plotnicki. \u201cTonight is a big celebration.
