The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance has begun accepting nominations for its annual Business Excellence Awards. Nominations can be submitted until March 9.

This annual event aims to recognize high-growth companies across the greater Reading region. Presented by GRCA and KPMG LLP, the awards honor the area’s most dynamic for-profit businesses and their contributions to the success of the entire community, according to information on the chamber alliance’s website.

This year’s awards will once again feature two categories separating businesses by their annual revenue. Category 1 represents businesses with $1 million or more in annual revenue in each of the past three fiscal years, while Category 2 represents businesses with at least $250,000 in annual revenue in each of the past three fiscal years.

Companies can be nominated or can nominate themselves for the award, but they must be GRCA members.

To be eligible companies must:

• Be a for-profit, public or privately held company.

• Be headquartered in Berks County or able to demonstrate that 50% of company revenue is generated from Berks. In 2022, the awards program was expanded to include businesses that have their headquarters outside the county.

• Have annual revenues of at least $1 million (Category 1) or $250,000 (Category 2) in the three most recent fiscal years.

• Be a Greater Reading Chamber Alliance member.

• Submit supporting documentation for revenues with the nomination form.

A tax return does not need to be provided for the application. An internal financial statement or an auditor-verified letter for support is sufficient, according to the guidelines.

Companies nominated for this year’s awards will be ranked according to their annual revenue growth, taking both dollar and percentage increases into consideration, according to the guidelines.

Eligible businesses may apply at greaterreading.org/annualbusinessawards. Once completed, the forms should be submitted to KPMG via email or fax for tabulation and determination of the rankings. All revenue figures will be held in the strictest confidence by KPMG, officials said.

The award winners will be recognized via a video montage tribute with special recognition given to the top three winners in each category at GRCA’s annual dinner on May 13.

More information about the annual dinner, its keynote speaker and how to purchase tickets will be made available as the date approaches at greaterreading.org.

Last year’s awards included 50 companies in the first category and 10 companies in the second category.

American Crane & Equipment Corp. took the top spot in the category for companies with revenues in excess of $1 million. American Crane was ranked ninth on the 2024 awards list and was unranked in 2023.

FXV Digital Design took the top spot in the category for companies with revenues of more than $250,000. FXV was unranked in 2023 and 2024.
