(WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) released its trout stocking schedules for 2026 on Thursday.

The PFBC will stock around 3.2 million trout in 648 streams and 130 lakes across Pennsylvania in 2026, according to their release.

Cooperative nurseries will stock an additional 1.1 million trout to waters open to the public. Stocking operations will begin during the week of Feb. 16.

The PFBC reminds any fishers intending to participate that they must possess both a fishing license and a trout license, which can be purchased at huntfish.pa.gov.

The waters added in our area are Kettle Creek in Clinton County, and the waters revised include extensions to Little Fishing Creek in Columbia County, Mahoning Creek in Montour County, and Meshoppen Creek in Wyoming County.

The waters removed in our area are Lake Frances in Luzerne County and Left Branch Young Women’s Creek in Clinton County.
