UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio —

Personal welfare: Groveland Road

At 7:55 p.m. Jan. 10, police were dispatched to a residence in the 4300 block of Groveland Road to conduct a welfare check.

While speaking with the caller, a University Heights woman, 30, officers learned that she was wanted on an active felony warrant issued in Erie County.

Police took her into custody and transported her to Solon jail to await extradition.

Domestic violence: Saybrook Road

At 8:50 a.m. Jan. 5, a woman went to the police station to report being threatened by her ex-spouse.

Police gathered information. An investigation is pending.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 1:55 p.m. Jan. 6, officers responded to Family Dollar, 13470 Cedar Road, on a report of theft.

The suspect, later identified through an investigation as a 26-year-old Cleveland woman, was charged with the theft of $25.29 worth of merchandise.

Psychiatric situation: Cedar Road

At 7 p.m. Jan. 6, , a 16-year-old boy contacted the UHPD to report having suicidal ideations while in the parking lot of Target, 14070 Cedar Road.

Police, EMS, and the boy’s father responded to the scene. The boy was voluntarily transported to a hospital for evaluation.

Traffic offense: John Carroll Boulevard

At 4:20 p.m. Jan. 8, police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of John Carroll Boulevard and Kerwick Road. The stopped vehicle did not have a visible license plate.

The driver, identified as 25-year-old Cleveland man, was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Also, his vehicle’s registration was expired.

Police issued him citations for DUS and expired plates and had his vehicle towed.

Personal welfare: Cedar Road

At 12:15 p.m. Jan. 8, police responded, along with First Call mental health clinicians, to a residence in the 13600 block of Cedar Road where a female was reportedly experiencing a mental crisis.

After speaking further with the female, First Call determined that a court ordered mental health probate was needed.

Officers returned to the address later and served the probate order. UHFD personnel transported the subject to the MetroHealth Main Campus.

OVI: Warrensville Center Road

At 2:35 a.m. Jan. 10, police conducted a traffic stop on Warrensville Center Road, near Okalona Road, for speeding.

The driver, a Cleveland woman, 22, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for OVI. Police also cited her for the speeding violation and having an open container in a motor vehicle.

Her car was towed.

OVI: Warrensville Center Road

At 12:15 a.m. Jan. 11, police conducted a traffic stop for a speeding violation.

The driver, a Cleveland woman, 50, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for OVI.

Police also charged her for speeding. Her car was towed.
