Firefighters responded to Gino’s Bistro along Dunmore Street in Throop shortly after 1 p.m. Friday.
THROOP, Pa. — A fire caused a restaurant in Lackawanna County to briefly shut down on Friday.
Fire crews were called to Gino’s Bistro along Dunmore Street in Throop around 1 p.m. after flames were discovered in the bar area.
Officials say the flames spread up inside a wall, filling an apartment above the restaurant with smoke.
Crews quickly put out the fire. No one was injured.
Gino’s was closed for a short time but is expected to reopen Friday.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
