WYOMISSING, Pa. – Developers have presented a conceptual plan for the redevelopment of the Berkshire Mall in Wyomissing.

During a meeting Thursday night, the borough says officials with Montgomery County-based Abrams Realty and Development talked about the desire to use what’s known as tax increment financing, or TIF, to help fund the project.

They also say they hope to close on the deal to buy the mall in mid-May.

Plans call for demolishing the mall, except for Boscov’s, and adding stores and restaurants.

Last fall, Peter Abrams told 69 News his company was considering an open-air concept.

At that time, remaining business owners in the mall said they were concerned about an uncertain future.
