The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Wake Forest wide receiver A.T. Perry, the team announced. A former All-ACC performer, he was a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints.
Perry was at Wake Forest from 2018 to 2022. He stayed with the Saints from 2023 to 2024 before joining the Denver Broncos, where he had previous connections to the Saints staff.
In his career, he has 12 receptions for 246 yards and four touchdowns. He was a two-time first-team All-ACC selection before declaring for the NFL Draft and heading to the Shrine Bowl that year.
This is the first signing of the Mike McCarthy era, but just one of the many futures signings the Steelers have continued to make throughout their entire offseason as the front office operates.
McCarthy is just now starting to put his fingerprints on the Steelers’ team and roster, with Perry being the first guy he has added in his short head coaching term.
The Steelers badly need wide receiver help, and Perry has a shot to make the team as a big-bodied outside wide receiver. Pittsburgh has decisions to make on Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Calvin Austin III, who are both free agents this offseason.
